5 places you can do all your Christmas shopping in one day

Haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet? Well don’t panic just yet as we have found five great destinations in the UK, where you can tick off your entire Christmas shopping list in one day. Our list consists of UK cities with a huge range of shopping options, from giant shopping centres with late-night shopping, to little hidden away stores.

Manchester

England’s unofficial second city, Manchester has a large range of Christmas shopping outlets, that will be sure some great Christmas present and inspiration. The city definitely has a cool edge to it and you can see this through their shops. Manchester has a large network of streets crammed full of small niche retailers. If you’re looking for something bohemian then be sure to check out Northern Quarter and the Castlefield area for more sleek and stylish offerings. The city also has the Arndale Centre and Trafford Centre.

If you have time why not check out the award-winning Manchester Christmas markets and the famous Elf The Musical, perfect for the whole family after a successful day of Christmas shopping. Manchester is really perfect if you’re stuck for Christmas shopping ideas – just remember to pack the umbrella!

Leeds

Leeds is going to be a hard one to beat this Christmas. Thanks to Victoria Gate shopping centre which opened in 2016 – a staggering £165million pound development. It is the third largest shopping destination in the UK outside London. It was voted the best shopping centre in the world at the MIPIM awards in 2017. This is not surprising, considering it’s so easy to walk everywhere.

If you are looking for upmarket shops then Victoria Gate and neighbouring Victoria Quarter are the places to go. Victoria Quarter is home to the first Harvey Nichols outside of London, and Victoria Gate has a brand new, five-storey John Lewis. Trinity Leeds, is where you would find loads of mid-level brands under its glass roof. For something more bespoke, then Corn Exchange and Grand Arcade are the hub of independent stores.

Edinburgh

The Scottish capital city is not only beautiful but a great place for Christmas shopping. So great and popular during this time of year that people are willing to brave the cold. The pristine streets are packed with quirky markets, independent shops to luxurious department stores. You’ll find designer names (Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, Prada), smaller boutique’s and some interesting gift shops too.

London

Very difficult to leave this one out of the list. The UK capital is a haven for festive shoppers, and Oxford Street is the most famous place of all. Hundreds of shops line the road from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road, there is something for all budgets.

Spitalfields Market is a great alternative if you’re bored with the usual high street shops. With its eclectic range of stalls you can easily find your loved ones something cool and unique here.

Birmingham

The UKs second largest city certainly knows how to attract the shoppers, with the Bull Ring and New Street. The people of Birmingham love trendy designer labels but they also love a bargain and unusual architecture. The Bull Ring has a whopping four Selfridges department stores. The £40 million futuristic Selfridges building is worth coming to Birmingham to see in itself. The city is filled with major high street shops including Harvey Nichols and House of Fraser. If you’re looking to buy some jewellery for your Christmas shopping this year then head down to the famous jewellery quarter – that’s all your bling sorted…

Everywhere else

There are, of course, plenty more brilliant destinations for Christmas shopping this year. The enormous Metrocentre is one of the largest shopping and leisure centres in Europe and Glasgow’s shopping hub is known as the Style Mile or why not venture to Liverpool which has a plethora of high-street stores with the MetQuarter and the uber-trendy Cavern Walks.
