Leeds is going to be a hard one to beat this Christmas. Thanks to Victoria Gate shopping centre which opened in 2016 – a staggering £165million pound development. It is the third largest shopping destination in the UK outside London. It was voted the best shopping centre in the world at the MIPIM awards in 2017. This is not surprising, considering it’s so easy to walk everywhere.
If you are looking for upmarket shops then Victoria Gate and neighbouring Victoria Quarter are the places to go. Victoria Quarter is home to the first Harvey Nichols outside of London, and Victoria Gate has a brand new, five-storey John Lewis. Trinity Leeds, is where you would find loads of mid-level brands under its glass roof. For something more bespoke, then Corn Exchange and Grand Arcade are the hub of independent stores.
The Scottish capital city is not only beautiful but a great place for Christmas shopping. So great and popular during this time of year that people are willing to brave the cold. The pristine streets are packed with quirky markets, independent shops to luxurious department stores. You’ll find designer names (Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton, Prada), smaller boutique’s and some interesting gift shops too.
