Teachers and students alike both benefit from learning outside the classroom.

For decades, the all-important school trip has been a staple in the lives of young minds and teachers. Taking a step out of the day-to-day classroom to learn about culture and history in real time has great benefits and is a hugely important tool in immersive learning.

If you’re a teacher and wish to take your class on a great adventure of learning and exploration, then this list may just be the perfect read for your school trip.


Beamish Museum



Are you currently teaching your class about 19th century Britain? It would be hard to find a better place for immersive learning and Beamish covers it all, from life in the earliest classrooms to working in the mills.

Some of the many learning activities are categorised from KS1-KS5 and include World War 2 onsite learning activities, life in a 1990’s pit cottage and an immersive Suffragettes rally that allows the children to make their own banners and try to encourage onlookers to join their cause.

Cadbury world



Discover a world of chocolate delights! Cadbury have over 30 years’ experience and invite more than 2,000 school trips every year.

This unique and fascinating place gives you and your class an insight into the rich heritage of our nation’s favourite chocolate brand. They offer a variety of activities for school groups such as their chocolate making workshop and 4D Chocolate Adventure cinema experience.

Chester Zoo



Named the UK’s best zoo and sixth in the world, it’s no surprise that Chester Zoo is a fantastic place to visit for an immersive learning experience. The learning just never stops here, it has over 20,000 animals and is also a conservation and education charity, committed to preventing the extinction of species of animals.

Their workshops run all year long and can be either in person or virtual (we obviously recommended in person!)

The British Museum



What better place to explore the great history of the world, with artifacts dating back *** years, there’s very little that this magnificent place doesn’t have and can cater from ages 3-16+.

Before booking, make sure you have a first, second and third choice for your date and time and a good idea of what subject you wish to focus on. This place is huge! So bare this in mind when planning your trip.

Eureka!




Not like other museums, Eureka! is an extraordinary fun-packed day out for children aged 0-11. They have six unique zones to discover, each filled with hundreds of interactive exhibits designed to inspire enquiring minds to find out about themselves and the world around them.

 A whole science museum dedicated to just educating children, what’s not to love?

BeWILDerwood



Based on the magical and enchanting books by author and creator Tom Blofeld, a day at BeWILDerwood means endless hours spent together, exploring our wonky world of treehouses, whizzing down super slides, swinging together on giant swings and zipping along extra-long zip wires, as well as joining in with our storytelling and creative crafts amongst other things!

BeWILDerwood offers an inspiring and safe environment for children to learn and play in. They welcome visits from pre-school, infant and primary schools as well as special schools.

Liverpool football club stadium tour



Football is such a huge part of our countries culture and history and no visit to Liverpool is complete without making a stop at Anfield Stadium.
