Parklife Festival 2018 & how to get there!

The annual independent musical festival, Parklife is back for a two day spectacular on 9th-10th June! Set in Heaton Park, one of the largest municipal parks in Europe, this open air event is set to blow Manchester away for its eighth year running.
With a mouth-watering eight stages there is something to tickle everyone’s musical taste buds. The indie pop sensations, The XX are set to headline Saturday with Manchester’s very own Liam Gallagher headlining Sunday. The talent doesn’t stop there with hundreds of other huge acts including: N.E.R.D, Skepta, ASAP Rocky, Carl Cox, Bonobo, and Everything Everything. Click here to see the full line up.
In a surprising yet exciting turn of events, Manchester’s cult busking band The Piccadilly Rats, have also been added to this year’s line-up. This was announced after the band took to twitter asking Parklife Boss Sacha-Lord-Marchionne for a spot in the festival.
The band tweeted: “Hi Sacha can you get us a 5 minute slot on the main PARKLIFE 2018 stage we don’t want paying Just need a few butties and a bottle of dandelion and burdock for Tommy”.
The tweet gained immense social media support resulting in Sacha agreeing to give them a place to perform. They’ll be playing in for their biggest crowd ever with 140,000 revellers are expected to hit the field.
As Parklife does not have accommodation facilities, travelling between the two nights is unavoidable. Here at SMC, we’re already filling up fast people booking their transport for the festival!
