Every year on 5th November and the surrounding days, people across England gather to celebrate the story of Guy Fawkes and the history of Bonfire Night with spectacular ferocity. Fireworks displays and bonfires spring up everywhere and the whole celebration is a world of family fun. SMC Coach Hire are planning ahead which is why we have found the best Bonfire Night events for you to attend this year.
Alexandra Palace, London
Alexandra Palace’s famous Fireworks Festival returns! Easily one of the biggest and most spectacular displays in the country, this year the festival will be in full swing across the 2nd November and 3rd November. See impressive fireworks exploding above the sparkling view of London while overindulging on yummy street food and beer. This popular event also offers a bonfire, ice skating and a family friendly area with funfair rides and more. Perfect for the family with plenty to do.
Leeds Castle, Kent
From 3rd to 4th November Leeds Castle will be hosting an epic Bonfire Night extravaganza. A staggering 25,000 fireworks will be lighting the skies of Kent, making this the largest firework display in the South East of England. This years dedicated theme is dancing, there will be a song for everyone to jive to with live music from Adam Chandler and a live Club Classic DJ set courtesy of Heart Kent Radio. There will also be fairground rides to keep the little ones (and the big ones!) entertained.
Abbey Green, East Sussex
Next on our list of Bonfire Night events is at Abbey Green, East Sussex. Battel Bonfire Boyes will be hosting their magnificent annual event on 3rd November. While this remains a free event, donations are welcomed and encouraged, with proceedings going to charities. There will be a church bell ringing, children’s fancy dress, a torch lit procession of attendees in traditional wear from across the ages, a bonfire and to top it all off a firework display.
Byron Park, Harrow
On the 4th November Byron Park will be hosting their very own firework display. This year is extra special with the event combining Bonfire Night celebrations and Diwali! A light show will take place to Hindi music while the fireworks will be set off to the backing track of pop music. As if that wasn’t enough there will also be face painting, henna hand art and tasty food stalls; a great family evening out for all.
Heaton Park, Manchester
On 5th November Manchester will be launching into the bonfire celebrations, the biggest of which will be hosted at Heaton Park. Unlike the other Bonfire Night events on this list, this is a free event which kicks off at 17:00 with a huge bonfire set to be lit at 19:30. Wrap up warm and watch the fantastic firework display, then why not jump on a ride or two at the funfair? If you’re hungry after all the fun there will be an abundance of scrumptious treats to chow down on.
