Welcome in Spring with Garden Strolls

Published 19th Feb 2020
Friday 20th March marks the first day of the Spring, bringing with it warmer weather and lighter days. To celebrate, we think you should dust off your walking boots, grab your coat and head out into nature! There are so many wonderful things to do in Spring including petting zoos, coastal strolls and planning for Easter but here at SMC Coach Hire, we think a stroll around of one UK’s many gardens is a great way to welcome in the new season. Here are our top three gardens to visit:

Sandringham House – Norfolk

Immerse yourself in a place of history and sheer beauty at Sandringham House. Purchased by King Edwards VII and Queen Alexandra in 1862, Sandringham House is home to 60 glorious acres of gardens. Think shrubbery, woodlands walks, informally planted cottage-style gardens and many beautiful rare plants and trees. The gardens are open from 3rd April and guided tours must be booked in advance.

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh are proudly celebrating their 350th anniversary this year. Across the 70 acres, situated a mere mile from the city centre, you will find the Rock Garden, Alpine Houses, Woodlands, the Chinese Hillside, 10 glasshouses containing 3,000 exotic plans from around the world and much more.

Inverewe Garden – Scotland

Inverewe Garden is a tropical paradise was first created in the 1860s and is situated on the banks of Loch Ewe.  Now a heritage site, the gardens are home to a wide variety of tropical beauties that have been brought from all over the world including New Zealand, China, South Africa and the Himalayas. These gardens are a perfect place to find peace and inspiration.
