Sub Club has been at the centre of dance music in Glasgow for 30 years, its intimate, friendly and electrifying atmosphere results in people flying in from around the world to experience the club for themselves. It is by far one of the best clubs in Scotland or arguably the best. It is made up of a basement space with a low ceiling and an amazing sound system – the energy that can be felt on the dancefloor is truly special.

2. Fabric, London
This list wouldn’t be right without Fabric – arguably the clubbing institution of the UK and one of the best clubs in Europe. It is home to the best sound systems in the world and has contributed so much to London’s club life. There are three rooms which all offer a different experience. On a Friday you can expect some bass-heavy music and Saturdays things get slightly deeper on a house and techno trip.

3. Hidden, Manchester
Manchester’s Hidden club scooped Best Small Club by DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards, beating clubs like already mentioned Sub Club. Manchester is a well-known party hotspot and Hidden (which is quite literally hidden) is very popular in the city. It is a cool venue ran by the friendliest staff you’ll find and the atmosphere is amazing.
