Coach and minibus tours to Oktoberfest 2017

Published 16th Aug 2017
Oktoberfest is the world’s largest folk festival. On average it has attracted six million visitors a year over the past decade, who between them have consumed almost seven million litres of beer. Woah! Not only beer but they have also munched their way through thousands of Bratwurst's, chickens and giant pretzels. Oktoberfest 2017 is for the beer lovers of the world and those who just love a party!

Traditionally the festival is held in tents, with colourful façades, long wooden tables and benches. Some tents can hold up to 10,000 visitors. The 16 day festival is truly massive and enormous fun. Most of the tents offer traditional Bavarian music, live bands, museums, galleries, vibrant parades and a variety of fairground rides for children. This is a very family-friendly festival. Some rides include “Höllenblitz” (“Lightning from Hell”), the “Skyfall”, the “Teufelsrad” (“Devil’s Wheel”).

The event is always a crowd-puller and Oktoberfest 2017 won’t be anything of short. The event is free but you can make reservations for tables and transport has to be booked well in advance. Click here to book table reservations.

When is Oktoberfest 2017?

Oktoberfest 2017 starts on Saturday16 September and ends on Tuesday 3 October. The final day is the Day of Germany Unity – the national day of Germany.

Where is it held?

The main Oktoberfest is held on the original meadow, named Ludwig, a short tram ride from the centre of Munich (Germany).

What to expect at Oktoberfest 2017

There will be new tents, new rides and some new features. The new Marstall tent is a unique equestrian themed tent with room to house up to 3,500 guests. There is also a new tent known as Kalbsbraterei, that serves traditional Oktoberfest dishes.

If you like your thrills and you’re a bit of an adrenaline junky, the “Encounter” is an experience to take you on an odyssey into the realms of science fiction, aliens, and medical experiments gone awry. This year there is  a new Caribbean themed park which will be open daily from 10pm until midnight; we’re all young at heart!

Oktoberfest 2017 is more than just a beer swigging, good old time. Look out for the historical and imaginative aspects and you will be sure to take back an extra special memory from the experience.

How much is a beer?

A beer is approximately 11 Euros. As always, it is free to enter and when it comes to seating the early bird does catch the worm. Arrive early and remember that the Friday and the weekends are always the busiest.
