Working From Home - Top Tips!
Published 30th Apr 2020
COVID-19 has had a huge effect on everyone’s day to day lives, including how we work. Many of us may have spent countless hours daydreaming about the presumed luxuries of working from home. We envisioned sending emails while still snug in our pjays, being only a hop away from the kitchen, and always having the TV remote within reaching distance.
However, working from home is not without its stresses: glitching Wi-Fi, poor reception, and constant distractions are just a few of the problems that occur. If you’re just about ready to scream in despair, fear not! Our team have had a virtual brainstorm and come up with 5 top tips to make working from home that little bit easier:
The whole world feels a little topsy-turvy right now thus it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with the sudden change in our day to day lives. Do your best to stick to a routine; we are creatures of habit and having a regular routine is great for our productivity and mental health.
Studies have shown that our leafy friends make perfect workspace companions. Having plants in your work environment can help to reduce stress, anxiety and improve overall mood. Just don’t forget to water them!
It’s very easy to find ourselves glued to our computer screens from the moment we wake up to the moment we go to bed, especially now our days aren’t broken up with travel or colleagues stopping for a chat. However, be sure to give your eyes a break from the screen and take regular breaks.
It’s important for your health that you keep active! If you’re not self-isolating and able, be sure to make the most of your daily outdoor exercise with a walk, jog or cycle. Exercise helps to release endorphins which improves mood.
Working from home doesn’t mean you need to be cut off from the world. Make time to speak with your colleagues and do regular check-ins on each other to ensure no one is feeling alone.
We hope that these little tips will help improve your working from home experience. If you have any tips or tricks to recommend, let us know!
